Why a user would be excluded in Training in the User Report

Leo Comia Updated by Leo Comia

This article explains the reasons why a user might not appear in the User Report for a training assignment. There are two main scenarios where this can happen:

  1. The user's Start Date is after the training was created

When a training is created, the system determines the list of eligible users based on their employment details at that time.

  • Explanation: If a user’s start date in the system is later than the creation date of the training, they are considered to have joined after the training was assigned.
  • Result: They will be excluded from the User Report for that training.

Example:

  • Training was created on March 1, 2025.
  • The user's start date is March 15, 2025.
  • The user will not appear in the report for that training.
  1. The user’s department is excluded from the Training

Administrators can target or exclude specific departments when assigning training.

  • Explanation: If the user belongs to a department that was excluded during training assignment setup, they will not be included.
  • Result: Users from excluded departments will not appear in the User Report for that training.

Example:

  • Training is assigned to all departments except "Office".
  • The user belongs to the "Workshop" department.
  • The user will be excluded from the User Report.

If you need further assistance verifying why a specific user is excluded, check:

  • Their start date in the user profile.
  • The department targeting settings of the training.
